He trained as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Central Florida until 2002. In 2004 he obtained a permanent position at the Institute of Physics of Federal University of Goi\u00e1s (UFG). He is currently a full professor at UFG, and the coordinator of the Center of Integrative Research on Nanomedicine (CNanoMed) of UFG. He leads a multidisciplinary group that has the mission to develop thermal-based nanotechnology strategies for disease theranostics. The group focuses on topics related to heat generation, heat transport and thermal dose monitoring.
